I
remember mom purchasing Kraft pimiento cheese spread when I was a kid. It was a
treat for her and a treat for my brother and me when she spread it on bread and
shared it with us. Unfortunately the glass container it came in was so small
that by the time she shared with us, there wasn’t much left for her.
Here’s
my recipe for pimiento cheese spread and it makes a whole bunch of spread.
Share it with your family, friends and neighbors!
Ingredients:
3 ounces longhorn
cheese (grated)
3 ounces extra-sharp
white cheddar cheese (grated)
1 4-ounce jar pimientos
(drained)
¼ cup Vegenaise
¼ teaspoon celery salt
Directions:
Mix all ingredients in
large bowl. Cover; chill. Transfer dip
to serving bowl. Surround with baguette slices and vegetables.
I remember my sister happily scraping the jar for this treat...thanks for the recipe!
ReplyDeleteIsn't it cool how some things never change...even the jar on the store shelf looks the same as it did when I was a kid.
